Employee Spotlight: Michael McGrath

This month’s pick for Employee Spotlight is Michael McGrath. Michael is a Senior Vice President in our Employee Benefits Division at The Fedeli Group, as well as a Practice Leader for our Public Sector accounts. Michael leads strategic and tactical planning with plan sponsors and directs the financial management and renewal negotiation process. Keep reading to learn more about Michael’s story and how he became involved in the Employee Benefits industry.

1. How did you get your start in the industry?

My first job after graduating from college was with Anthem (then called Community Mutual) in Columbus.

2. How long have you been at TFG?

I have been with The Fedeli Group for 17 years.

3. What is the best part of your job?

Everyday I do something different. Regardless, of what I’m doing, I get to help clients. I’ve also enjoyed the opportunity to work with many different groups and feel that I have a better understanding of how our economy works because of my exposure. I also feel that I have developed meaningful friendships with the people I work with. We are more than just co-workers.

4. What are three words you would use to describe The Fedeli Group?

Authentic, loyal, compassionate.

5. What is your favorite meal to cook?

I love to cook. I have several “go to” dishes, but perhaps my most interesting favorite is paella made on a fire pit outside by the pool.
