Coronavirus Carrier Resources

While we continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID‐19) pandemic and share information to support you and your business, we have complied a repository of insurance carrier information regarding regulatory developments, upcoming webinars, employee eligibility criteria, premium payment flexibility, and general questions and answers. This repository is updated daily and may be used as a single source for carrier updates during the pandemic. Please note that this information is for general use only and may not apply to your plan. We encourage you to contact your Fedeli team with any questions you may have.

Symetra

3/23/20 – Symetra Accouncement: Please see below for the increased flexibility we are providing to our policyholder’s Continuation of Coverage provision in each of their Symetra contracts in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. I have also included the link to a Symetra FAQ. Please share as you see fit with our policyholders, as well as the entire Fedeli team.

Continuing Coverage for Your Employees
Symetra is committed to partnering with our employer customers and your employees that may lose coverage because of the impact of COVID-19. As a result, we are providing additional flexibility to continue coverage for an employee that would normally lose coverage for one of the reasons below.

– As a direct result of the COVID-19 crisis, the employee is:

  • not working enough hours to meet the minimum number of hours requirement
  • temporarily laid off
  • on a leave of absence
  • has a change in status from full time to part time

Employers will be able to continue coverage for these employees for up to 60 days from the date coverage would normally have ended as long as you continue to pay premiums and treat all eligible employees consistently.

*Reminder- Employers should offer conversion rights and/or portability (if applicable) to all your employees once they lose their coverage. Standard conversion and portability timeframe and rules stated within the policy will still apply.
