A privately owned hospitality and lodging organization specializing in resort style lodging in several states with over 1000 employees. Problem: With over 20 properties and growing, The Company did not have a corporate benefit strategy that involved a single insurer for medical. Instead, The Company offered many fully insured plans using several regional carriers. As a result there were varying degrees of customer services provided by all the insurers. Carrier service problems were not addressed uniformly and substantial billing errors were nearly impossible to clarify.

The Fedeli Group’s employee benefit consultants and account managers worked with each insurer to conduct an eligibility audit in order to correct billing issues. The firm met with corporate leaders and delivered an executive analysis containing benefit, cost and contribution benchmarks specific to the industry and by region. With The Fedeli Group’s assistance a corporate benefit strategy was developed. A benefit plan was formed that was geared toward the hospitality industry employees. A RFP was developed and released to the marketplace with the intention of consolidating the plans with one national carrier. Results:The Fedeli Group narrowed the field down to two finalists and eventually selected one national carrier that was able to provide regional claim support, an integrated network with competitive networks, high level management reporting and nationally recognized care management. Furthermore, the firm was able to establish a branded benefit communication and service model that met the diverse needs of the Company’s staff.
