Michael S. McGrath, serves The Fedeli Group as Executive Vice President in the Group Benefits Department. His experience in employee benefits allows him to employ a consultative approach to working with plan sponsors, insurers, administrators and employees alike. Michael's strengths are in developing goals with plan sponsors, providing innovative benefit plan design, and streamlining account management protocols and vendor negotiations. He has worked closely with plan sponsors to design alternate funding options, defined contribution plans as well as consumer driven alternate funding options. Michael has successfully marketed ancillary and worksite benefits and is knowledgeable of pending legislation and benefit trends. Michael is a graduate of The University of Toledo and began his health insurance career with Acordia Personal Benefits Agency, Inc. / Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield n Worthington, Ohio as a direct sales representative. He was later hired by Columbus, Ohio general agency National United Brokers, Inc. to direct the business development effort and manage client management and retention. Michael's tenure with National United Brokers was highlighted by impressive retention levels and earned revenue. Michael is active in the National and Ohio Association of Health Underwriters, serving as Ohio's education co-chairperson. He has authored continuing education courses approved by the Ohio Department of Insurance for defined contribution health plans. Presently, Michael is pursuing a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation from the International Society of Employee Benefit Plans and The Wharton School.
